Pressure vessel design and fabrication
APMS Engineering provides a pressure vessel design and fabrication service to the Resources, Petrochemical, Critical Minerals and Oil & Gas Industries.
We have experience designing and fabricating pressure vessels to a wide range of national and international client Specifications in accordance with Australian Standards (eg AS1210, AS4458) and also International Standards (eg ASME VIII, PED 2014/68/EU).

Pressure vessel design and fabrication
We have experience working with a wide range of materials in our workshops. This extends from AS1548-7-460 carbon-manganese steel through a wide range of austenitic steels including 304, 316, 310 and 904 stainless steels, SAF 2205 and 2507 Duplex, nickel alloys including Alloy 31, 59 and Inconel, Titanium Grade 2, 7 and 12 and a range of proprietary metals such as Zecor and Saramet. We have over 150 weld procedures covering a range of materials in accordance with Australian (eg AS3992) and international (eg ASME IX) Standards.
APMS Engineering can also scope, manage and execute the installation of pressure vessels and associated pipework, valves, pumps and structural steelwork onsite for your project.
Activities
- Carry out detailed mechanical design of the pressure envelope.
- Preparation of Autocad drawings.
- Provide design verification.
- Assist client in the application for vessel and design statutory registration.
- Procurement of materials.
- Work Pack development and preparation of detailed MS Project schedules.
- Setting up of project reporting template.
- Pressure vessel fabrication and welding.
- Non destructive testing of the completed pressure vessel (RT, UT, PT, MT).
- Post weld heat treatment if required.
- Hydro testing post-fabrication.
- External (and internal if required) surface treatment to standard or specialised coating systems.
- Transportation of completed pressure vessels to sites in Australia and world-wide for installation.
- Installation of completed pressure vessels if required.
- Site attendance during commissioning.
- Preparation and submission of Manufacturers Data Report on project completion.
