Scope of Work
The CL Carbon Transfer Vessel was required by our client as part of a processing plant upgrade designed to increase the sulphide gold recovery rates from 78% to 85%.
This project involved the preparation of detailed drawings, procurement of materials, manufacture, testing, external surface treatment and packing for EXW delivery of ONE CL Carbon Transfer Vessel. The vessel was 2.2m diameter x 7m long and weighed 7 tonnes. The material of construction was 460Gr carbon steel.
Project Resourcing
The project team included:
- Project Management
- Quality Management
- 3D Drafting
- Project Supervision
- Boilermaking and Coded Welding Personnel
- Surface treatment, NDT, hydrotesting and machining subcontracts
Fabrication
Project Achievements
The CL Carbon Transfer Vessel was completed without accident or incident to the required technical and quality standards and on budget. Our client provided positive feedback on the professionalism of our project team throughout the project.
- Zero recordable incidents or accidents throughout the duration of the project.
- Extensive interaction with our client to ensure timely resolution of numerous technical issues.
- Achieved exacting dimensional tolerances required, essential for the vessels to perform in service as designed.
- The project was delivered on time, on budget and with a 100% weld compliance rate.
Key Activities
The success of the project was dependant on the successful execution of the following activities:
- Preparation of Autocad drawings.
- Material procurement.
- Coded TIG and FCAW welding to AS3992.
- Fabrication in accordance with AS1210.
- Successful NDT (10% RT and 100% MPI/visual inspection) and hydrotesting.
- 3D drafting of vessel to confirm dimensional tolerances.
- External surface treatment.
- Packing for overseas transport.
- 100% material and weld traceability.
- Co-ordination of multiple subcontractors including non-destructive testing (NDT), hydro testing, blasting & painting and logistics (arrangements/documentation) for shipping.
- Liaise with the client to ensure Manufacturers Data Report (MDR) contained the information required for future reference including as built information and drawing updates.
